East is the new west, for us, anyway. In a time when many make the move to the mountains, four new hires have come to the shores of Lower Water Street in Halifax.
“We’re looking for people who can compete with the best of the world and believe you can do it from here,” said Andrew Doyle, our President. “Our search for new talent has proven there’s no short supply of brilliant people here, and around the world.”
Christina Biluk, our new Account Manager, has extensive work experience with DDB Canada in Toronto where she worked for Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, Nike, Clorox, Canadian Tourism Commission, Hockey Canada, USA Hockey, Energizer, Imperial Oil and Schick. Before coming here, Christina worked at Bristol Group. She is also the Vice President of Marketing for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Atlantic Canada Chapter. She will be working on our Destination Halifax account.
Jason Thomas is our newest Copywriter. Hailing from Minnesota, Jason attended the Miami Ad School in Minneapolis. His first internship at Mark/BBDO had him working for clients like Toyota and Pepsi. He revved up his resume while producing work for Porsche and Harley Davidson at Carmichael Lynch. He moved north of the border as part of Halifax agency Colour’s Year One Program.
Jackie Kelly, our newest Senior Graphic Designer, brings our total of South Africans to three. She’s studied around the world, in the UK, Amsterdam, Vancouver, and most recently she’s received her Masters of Design at NSCAD University. Jackie has worked with the global advertising company Saatchi & Saatchi and later founded Vein Magazine. She continues to work with local organizations in support of Canadian creative culture.
Matt Gaudet joins the team on June 1 as Senior Interactive Designer. His face is familiar to the office, returning to Extreme after almost three years at SportsDirect. A graduate of NSCC’s Interactive Technology program, he has eight years experience in the area of design and interactive media. Matt returns to focus on interactive development and design.
