Extreme beefs up in Halifax

We’ve welcomed some new faces to the halls of Extreme lately, ramping up our operations in Halifax. So as 2008 gets underway, it’s a great chance to meet the five new account people we’ve added to the mix.

“It’s always good to get such talented people on board,” said Andrew Doyle, president of Extreme Group. “Our approach to the work is what makes us unique, so it’s really exciting to have several new people that fit so well with our philosophy.”

Christine Santimaw is our newest senior account manager, joining us after working at MT&L Public Relations. Christine previously worked in New York City at Robinson Lerer and Montgomery where she developed and implemented strategies for corporate litigation support, CEO transition and corporate philanthropy. Christine’s also worked for Ruder Finn Inc., spearheading media programs for several of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.

Denis Aucoin has also signed on as an account manager. He works with clients such as the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia. A Dalhousie University commerce grad, Denis spent the last six years at Nexient Learning where he was director of marketing.

Steve Martel has joined us as an account manager, returning to Halifax after two and a half years in PEI where he was director of marketing for Bright Marketing. His agency experience has seen him develop a strong creative and marketing portfolio for clients ranging from interactive companies to golf courses. Steve also has several years of wireless communications experience that he’ll lend to our Aliant team.

We’ve also welcomed two professionals new to the industry. Natalie Fleming has recently become a planning coordinator and will be responsible for researching consumer insights to support our strategies. Natalie originally joined us for her work term as part of the Mount’s public relations program and will be staying on in her new role. Natalie also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Memorial University.

Another newcomer joining us this fall is Travis Smith, account coordinator. Travis is responsible for providing day-to-day tactical support for the account team. He comes to us fresh from NSCC’s PR program where he won the IABC award for best portfolio. He previously completed a political science degree at Acadia.
