Vancouver’s small business community learned of the first-ever venue for all things SME in a big way this month after leading office solutions provider Grand & Toy teamed up with Extreme Group to open its Vancouver Business Centres.
The B2B outlets provide business owners with the opportunity to access everything from professional services, such as human resources management, technical assistance via in-centre hotline phones and interior design counsel to essential office supplies. Grand & Toy hired Extreme Group to assist with the new venue public unveiling – a grand opening event that included in-store advertising and the “G&T Small Business Breakthrough” contest, designed to attract small business owners to the store. Extreme Group also provided sales and marketing counsel for the Vancouver sales team.
“The launch of our new Business Centres in Vancouver is an important step forward for the brand,” said Kevin Edwards, Grand & Toy Vice-President, Marketing. “It is the physical manifestation of how we’ve redefined our retail proposition to be aligned with the needs of small businesses owners. Extreme Group was an obvious choice because of its small-business roots and understanding of the entrepreneurial spirit.”
Paul Leblanc, founder and CEO of Extreme Group echoed Edwards sentiments, describing the project as an excellent opportunity to help small business by promoting the centres as the ideal place to access the valuable resources needed to grow their business.
“Extreme Group started out as a small business and that background gave us the understanding we needed to make this launch a success,” said Leblanc. “It’s exciting to be a small business owner and even more exciting when you get to shop somewhere that shares that same passion and enthusiasm.”
Edwards added that it was important for Grand & Toy to partner with an agency that understands the everyday passion and drive that goes into running a small business.
“That’s one of the key reasons we chose Extreme Group — not only do they represent small business, but they bring a collaborative approach to developing smart ideas,” he said.
Grand & Toy’s first two Business Centres are located in downtown Vancouver with plans for a third one opening in Yaletown early this summer.
