Extreme Group nets first round draft pick

Extreme Group recently added to its executive team, announcing the appointment of Daniel Tolensky to the role of CFO, overseeing all financial operations for the agency.

Tolensky previously spent seven years at Grip Limited, working his way to the senior rank of controller from his roots in client service. He wears many hats well and is expected to bring his breadth of knowledge and talent to his new role.

Daniel brings extensive experience and financial background that will be vital as we continue to strengthen and grow the agency," said Paul Leblanc, CEO of Extreme. "Importantly, Daniel has a true creative and entrepreneurial spirit that is a rare find nowadays, but remains a key ingredient in Extreme’s culture.”

Tolensky added: “I was able to spend a significant amount of time getting to know the executive team during the interview process and also spent a day at Extreme’s Halifax office. I was extremely impressed by the passionate team that has been assembled in both offices—everyone truly brings something noteworthy to the table.”

Tolensky has proven his capability to multitask. At Grip, he helped to grow the agency from 15 to over one hundred employees and completed his Certified Management Accounting designation along the way. He is also a recognized and avid sports writer who has been published in The Hockey News, referenced in the Montreal Gazette and National Post and has appeared on multiple radio shows. Tolensky recently launched a new hockey column on TSN.ca called ‘Beyond the Scoresheet’ and a weekly radio segment on XM’s ‘Business of Hockey’ show.
